Origin of Wording Art

Updated: Jan 17

When I was a child, I remember my mother always sought to nourish my mind every day, just as she ensured my body was nourished. Among all her wonderful ideas, there was one that particularly intrigued me.

"This idea was simple to implement, accessible, and within reach of anyone."

She would say to me: "Read the dictionary."

"What? Read a dictionary? Oh yes, indeed... It's a great opportunity to make rich discoveries on every page because there's so much information."

I did it. I read pages. I often didn't understand everything because everything is new when you're a child. And reading a definition of a new word often means having to go back and forth through the dictionary to better understand the definition being read...

"It was a funny idea. And it triggered unsuspected things in me that I understood much later..."

One day, a very cultured man revealed to me that during his adolescence, he did something that greatly helped him contribute to his success... on his bedside table, at night, he read the dictionary. In a club where we often gather with friends to have fun and where lessons are shared to evolve and achieve the personal goals we set in life, one of the lessons is to read the definition of words...

"Today, I realize the power of this principle that has followed me since childhood."

That it is a basic principle used by many people who have achieved a certain degree of success in their personal, relational, and professional lives.

"It's almost magical what happens when you do it."

It changes our perception of the events and situations that occur daily. I also tell myself that I haven't done it enough yet.

Why? Reading a dictionary is not the most exciting thing to do. Especially depending on the dictionary!

Meeting an artist inspired us to create an artistic visual medium that uses words and to create a collectible concept to enrich the lives of collectors. We called it Wording Art.
